Artist Submission Instructions and Applications

FEES: (Fees are payable to the “Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts”)
Framed entries: $5.00 for each accepted entry (up to four (4) per artist). Portfolios: $10.00 per portfolio

PLEASE NOTE: Artists shall donate 25% of any sales effected through the exhibition, to the Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts. The proceeds benefit the Bay Ridge Festival of the arts Scholarship Fund which provides financial grants to local graduating high school seniors who will pursue higher education in the arts.


Eligibility: Any artist may submit work—you do not need to be a member of the organization. However we ask that you do volunteer your time to help with the show. We need help with hanging art, publicity, fund-raising, etc. Please email to inquire about how to help.

All works of art (painting, graphic art, mixed media, sculpture and photography) must be original, for sale and must never have been shown in a previous Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts exhibit. No copies will be accepted.

Number of Entries: Each artist may submit up to four (4) framed works of art. In some cases, we may accept fewer. To present a balanced and well hung show in limited space, quality, size, medium and subject matter will determine the number of works accepted from each artist. No overpainting will be accepted. The decision of the jury is final.

Receiving Day: All works must be delieverd unpacked, ready for hanging. Each artist must clearly complete all entry forms, which must be properly attached to the back of the work. Artist must keep stamped receipt for pickup. (All media.)

Framed Works: All work must be suitable and securely framed. Screw eyes must be attached to back of frames before delivery. Leave hanging attachments on metal section frames. Fasten entry label to back of each piece using masking tape on top of label only. Do not separate part A from part B.

Portfolios: Unframed works (all media) will be accepted. Entry fee is $10.00 per portfolio. Maximum: 10 items, which may be replenished, by Festival personnel only, as works are sold. Sculpture: Sculpture must be of a size and weight which the artist can carry.

Sale and Donation: Artists are asked to not charge excessive prices. Every effort will be made to promote sales. Artists shall donate 25% of any sales effected through the exhibition, to the Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts (75% will be paid out to the artist.)

Liability: Entries will be handled with all possible care, but neither the Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts, Inc. nor the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd will be responsible for loss or damage to works of art submitted, or to frames, no matter how same may be caused.

Agreement: All work hung, except works sold, must remain for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork may be taken by buyer at time of purchase. The display of work in this exhibition shall constitute an agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions as set forth above.
